Announcer: The e-Learning Lingo Podcast.

Mary Kay Lofurno: Hello. This is Mary Kay Lofurno, Marketing Director here at SyberWorks, and welcome to the 79th episode of the e-Learning Lingo Podcast series.

Last week Dave Powell discussed “information commons.” This week Dave will explain a term used in e-Learning theory, “domains of learning.” So I ask you, do you know your e-Learning Lingo?

Mary Kay: Hi Dave. So what are domains of learning?

David Powell: Along with Bloom's taxonomy, Benjamin Bloom also divided what and how we learn into three separate domains of learning. They are: cognitive (knowledge and skills), affective (values, feelings, motivations, and attitudes toward learning), and psychomotor (motor skills and coordination).

In e-Learning it is important to take these domains into account when planning training content and approaches. By analyzing the types of learning domains and outcomes desired, instructors can determine which domains, activities, and assessments will work best.

Mary Kay Lofurno: Thanks Dave for that explanation. Have a great afternoon.

David Powell: You too, Mary Kay. Talk with you soon!
