Mary Kay: Hi Dave! So, what are core capabilities?
David Powell: Core capabilities are any competitive advantages that have built up for a firm over time and cannot be easily imitated. They are distinct from both supplemental and enabling capabilities, neither of which is sufficiently superior to those of competitors to sustain an advantage.
