Mary Kay Lofurno: Hello, this is Mary Kay Lofurno, Marketing Director here at Syberworks, and welcome to the 71st episode of the e-Learning Lingo podcast series. Last week, Dave Powell discussed lateral thinking. This week, Dave will explain an e-Learning model known as Bloom's Taxonomy.

So, I ask you, do you know your e-Learning Lingo?

Mary Kay: OK Dave, What’s Bloom’s Taxonomy?

David Powell: The Bloom’s Taxonomy Model places thinking processes into six levels of complexity. The lowest three levels are knowledge, comprehension, and application. The highest three levels are analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. These levels have often been depicted as a stairway leading many teachers to encourage their students to “climb” to a higher level of thought.

Mary Kay Lofurno: OK, Dave, thanks for that explanation. Have a terrific afternoon.

David Powell: You too Mary Kay, talk with you soon.
