Mary Kay Lofurno: This is Mary Kay Lofurno, Marketing Director here at SyberWorks. Welcome to the 48th episode of the e-Learning Lingo Podcast series. Last week, Dave Powell discussed threaded discussion. This week, Dave will talk about adult learning theory. So, I ask you, do you know your e-Learning Lingo?

Mary Kay: OK, Dave. So, tell us about adult learning theory.

David Powell: Adult learning theory, pioneered by Malcolm Knowles, explains the different learning motivations of adults and children. Adults are self directed and autonomous and teachers usually only need to involve them in the learning process and act as facilitators. Adults also bring more life experiences than children, which also affect their learning process.

Mary Kay Lofurno: All right, thanks for that explanation. Have a great afternoon, Dave.

David Powell: You too, talk with you soon.
