Mary Kay Lofurno: Hello, this is Mary Kay Lofurno, Marketing Director here at SyberWorks. Welcome to the 45th episode of the e-Learning Lingo Podcast series.
Last week, Dave Powell explained mobile learning. This week, Dave will discuss a term used in knowledge management, ‘calculated intangible value.’
So, I ask you, do you know your e-Learning Lingo?
[theme music]
Mary Kay: Hi, Dave. So, what’s calculated intangible value?
David Powell: In knowledge management, calculated intangible value is a way to put a dollar amount on intangible assets. It finds a way to measure the company’s ability to outperform an average competitor that has similar tangible assets and quantifies this measure as the value of the firm’s intangible assets.
Examples of intangible assets include brand equity and proprietary technology.
Mary Kay Lofurno: Well, that makes a lot of sense. Have a great afternoon.
David Powell: You, too. Thank you very much.
