Mary Kay: Hi, Dave. So, tell us about text equivalent.
David Powell: Text equivalent is an accessibility technique in which a plain text alternative matches the content and function of a non-text object on a web page. This enables users with, for example, visual impairments to understand the page.
But it can also cause web content to fall out of sync, since both the real page and its text alternative must be updated in parallel and very often, are not.
