Mary Kay Lofurno: Hello, this is Mary Kay Lofurno, Marketing Director here at SyberWorks. Welcome to the 133rd episode of the e-Learning Lingo Podcast series. Last week, Dave Powell talked about Integrated Learning Systems. This week, Dave defines the Frayer model. So I ask you, do you know your e-Learning Lingo?

Mary Kay: All right Dave, tell us about the Frayer Model.
Dave Powell: The Frayer Model is a learning tool that is typically used in vocabulary development. It was developed by Dorothy Frayer at the University of Wisconsin to help students gain a thorough understanding of new terminology.
Mary Kay: OK, could you give us a little more information about the Frayer Model itself?
Dave: Sure, students use a graphic organizer to categorize their knowledge about a given term. In the four quadrants of the organizer they input characteristics or facts about the word, examples of the word, non-examples and their own definition of the word.
Mary Kay: Sounds good, Dave. Have a great week.
Dave: You, too. Talk to you soon.
