Mary Kay: All right, Dave, tell us about RFID.
Dave Powell: RFID stands for “Radio Frequency Identification.” It is a wireless information transmission technology that may take the place of barcodes in the future.
Mary Kay: OK. Dave, how does RFID work? Could you tell us?
Dave: Sure. First, a physical tag, sometimes called a “smart label,” is placed on an object. Then a separate transceiver is used to read the tag and provide information about the object.
Mary-Kay: Cool! Thanks, Dave. Have a great afternoon.
Dave: You too, talk to you soon.
