This week, Dave defines Integrated Learning Systems. So I ask you, do you know your e-learning lingo?

Mary Kay: Hi Dave. All right, tell us about Integrated Learning Systems.
Dave Powell: An Integrated Learning System, or ILS, is a complete software, hardware and network system package, that is used for is used for instruction and learning. An ILS provides curriculum and lessons that are organized by levels.
Mary Kay: All right Dave, a little more here. What types of features are typically associated with an ILS.
Dave: In addition to the standard lessons an Integrated Learning system usually includes a number of support tools, such as assessments, record keeping, report writing and user information files. These tools are useful in identifying students' learning needs, monitoring progress and maintaining records of students' learning.
