Mary Kay Lofurno: Hello, this is Mary Kay Lofurno, Marketing Director here at SyberWorks. Welcome to the 108th episode of the e-Learning Lingo Podcast Series. Last week Dave Powell talked about Object Oriented Programming. This week Dave defines Learning Resource Interchange.

So I ask you, do you know your e-Learning Lingo?

Mary Kay: OK Dave, tell us about the learning resource interchange.

Dave Powell: Learning resource interchange, or LRN, is an XML-based specification supported by Microsoft and many other vendors. It gives content creators a standard way to identify, share, update, and create online content and courseware. Learning resource interchange is the first commercial application of the content and management system specification, which was developed by the e-learning industry and the IMS Global Learning Consortium.

Mary Kay: Good information, Dave. Thanks. Have a great afternoon.

Dave: You too, Mary Kay. Talk to you soon.
