Mary Kay: Hi Mary, it is great to have you here again on the SyberWorks e-Learning Podcast series.
Mary Polley-Berte: Good to be here, how are you?
Mary Kay: Great. All right, lets get to it. I know you recently wrote an article “Improving On-the-job Training within LMS and e-Learning Tools.” Without getting too much into your article because I know you want people to read it, you mentioned some pitfalls associated with on-the-job training.
What do you think are the biggest pitfalls associated with on-the-job training?
Mary: Supervisors are not always comfortable in the role of a trainer and often do not have enough time to train people. Those are two major ones.
Mary Kay: All right, that sounds good. Is there anything else you would like to share about your article, but dont give it away too much?
Mary: Using the LMS is both cost effective and time effective for people. It allows them to have access to information directly even when a supervisor is not directly available.
Mary Kay: All right, that sounds great. Folks, please download Marys article and read it, because it has a lot of good information in it. It is located in the SyberWorks Media Center under the “e-Learning Articles” section. Mary, I know you are busy, so I am going to let you go. Thanks for joining us today.
Mary: Thank you Mary Kay for having me.
Mary Kay: Thanks for listening to our podcast today on on-the-job training tips with Mary Polley Berte, Director of Technical Support & Training. Here on the SyberWorks e-Learning Podcast series, have a great day.
